Nikki Garcia Secures Restraining Order Against Husband Artem Chigvintsev
WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia, better known as Nikki Bella, has secured a restraining order against her husband, professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev, following an alleged domestic violence incident at their Napa Valley home in August.
The order was granted on Monday after Nikki Garcia provided a sworn statement detailing the alleged assault, according to a report by TMZ. The Napa Valley district attorney announced that Chigvintsev will not face charges related to the incident, citing insufficient evidence. The office stated:
Under the terms of the restraining order, Chigvintsev is prohibited from coming within 100 yards of Garcia, their four-year-old son, and their home, except during court-ordered visitation exchanges. The judge, however, denied Garcia’s request to leave the country with her son for a work project. A full hearing on the matter is scheduled for October 21st.
The couple, who married in 2022, had their relationship take a public downturn after Garcia filed for divorce in mid-September. Garcia’s restraining order petition claims that Chigvintsev allegedly tackled and pinned her to the ground multiple times while their son was present. She also alleges that his outbursts were triggered by her decision not to toast an English muffin for their child, which escalated into a physical altercation.
Garcia has further claimed that Chigvintsev has been both physically and verbally abusive in the past, adding more details in her legal filings. In the wake of these events, Chigvintsev, a former “Dancing With the Stars” cast member, was reportedly not invited back to the show after his August arrest.
