It emerged on Wednesday that the couple, who have a two-year-old son called Malcolm, exchanged vows in a private ceremony over the weekend.
Their nuptials took place in New York State at the private home of one of the couple’s friends, following a three-year romance.
Malcolm and the witness were the only guests present when John, 41, and Olivia, 44, tied the knot, an insider informed People.
Now the identity of the man who performed their wedding has been unveiled – a decade after he acted with Olivia on the HBO drama The Newsroom.
Sam Waterston, who earned an Oscar nomination for the 1984 movie The Killing Fields, has been confirmed as John and Olivia’s officiant.
