Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl dodged a question about Taylor Swift while out in Los Angeles on Thursday after recently accusing the pop star of lip-synching.
One month after implying that the Cruel Summer hitmaker does not sing live on her Eras Tour during one of his shows in London, the Foo Fighters frontman, 55, chose to remain silent when asked about his remarks by a paparazzo while walking to his car in Los Angeles.
When asked directly what he thought about the online chatter that his ‘statements on Taylor not playing live weren’t fair,’ the musician kept his mouth shut.
He also chose not to respond to a question about ‘why’ he doesn’t think she sings live, despite the 14-time Grammy winner insisting that she does not lip sync.
In the footage, obtained by TMZ, Grohl smoked a cigarette and simply gave a wide-eyed expression when asked to ‘clarify’ his past comments.
In June, the music legend blasted Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour by suggesting she doesn’t sing live.
During one of his concerts, he told the crowd: ‘We like to call our tour “The Errors Tour” because I feel like we’ve had more than a few eras and more than a few f**king errors as well.’
He proceeded to quip: ‘That’s because we actually play live.’
As some concertgoers booed, he shot back: ‘What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ‘n’ roll music, right? You came to the right f**king place.’
Right before he made the accusation, Grohl he admitted to ‘joking about the Taylor Swift tour earlier’ and not wanting to ‘suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.’
The day after his comment, Swift seeming responded to his claim as she thanked her band and crew for working tirelessly to make the Eras Tour special for fans.
Swift asked her fans to cheer for every one of her band members and crew, who she said plsy ‘live for you for 3.5 hours’ every show.
‘They deserve this so much,’ she gushed. ‘And so does every one of my fellow performers. And you just gave that to us so generously, we will never forget it.’
