In a candid interview with the New York Times, French Gates shed light on her views regarding the charitable efforts of high-profile figures such as hedge fund manager Bill Ackman, Block CEO Jack Dorsey, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
French Gates stated unequivocally, “They use their voice and they use their megaphones, but I would not call those men philanthropists.” This assertion emphasizes her belief that true philanthropy extends beyond merely making donations; it encompasses a commitment to societal change and impactful giving.
