Simone Biles was stunned when a Parisian nightclub tried to charge her a staggering $26,000 for one bottle of bubbly after the 2024 Olympics.
“We had closing ceremonies at the Olympics. I went, and after that, we went out,” Biles, 27, recalled in a TikTok video posted Monday. “You guys, this club tried to charge me $26,000 for a bottle of Champagne.”
The Olympic gymnast said that she “obviously” did not purchase the overpriced alcohol.
“Like, are you insane?” she asked. “Obviously, I didn’t buy it. But why would you even try to play me like that? Like, that’s wild.”
Her fans agreed that the club charge was a hefty price tag for one bottle of booze and flooded the comments section of her post with reactions.
“$26K is crazy omg,” one person commented with a crying-face emoji
“$26K??? That’s insane,” a fan agreed, with a third writing, “$26K just made me mad bc what?!”
“Was it L’Arc?? 😭,” another person wondered, referring to an upscale disco club in Paris with a champagne menu.
Biles did not reveal the name of the club where the incident unfolded — though she had posted photos clubbing with her sister from inside L’Arc following the conclusion of the Olympics last week.
Simone Biles says Paris club tried to charge her $26K for one bottle of Champagne after Olympics 2024
“The reason I’m unwell this morning,” Biles captioned a snap showing a bottle parade at the venue complete with champagne, sparklers, a sign that read, “Gym Legend Simone Biles @L’Arc Paris” and another sign that dubbed her “God 4 Life.”
While Biles found spending that kind of money completely unnecessary, her parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, shelled out a significant amount of dough to celebrate their daughter becoming the most decorated gymnast in history.
Simone posted photos at the Hermès store in Paris and later revealed that her mom and dad bought her a purse from the French fashion house to celebrate her 2024 Paris Olympics victories.
“my parents bought me my hermes bag 🥰,” she confirmed on Threads last week. “don’t be mad at me, be mad at your parents.”
This year, the athlete went home with three gold medals after competing in this year’s women’s artistic individual all-around, women’s artistic team all-around and women’s vault; and one bronze medal for her women’s floor routine.
She effectively became the most decorated gymnast in history, thanks to her total of 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals.
